ERP Platform Owner
About the Role
The ERP Platform Owner is accountable for the strategy execution, operational excellence, and lifecycle management of Haleon's global ERP platform estate. This role owns and operates the end-to-end health of current cloud-hosted ERP landscape, ensuring it is secure, resilient, compliant, performant, and future-ready while supporting Haleon's transformation journey from current ERP environments to SAP RISE.
Reporting to the Head of Platform Operations, the role is responsible for managing the ERP technical stack across Applications, SAP Basis, Databases, Operating Systems, Cloud Infrastructure, and Security. The ERP Platform Owner will work on current landscape migration programs to SAP RISE, govern post-migration decommissioning and sunset activities, and ensure operational continuity throughout the transformation lifecycle.
The successful candidate will partner with business and IT stakeholders, architecture teams, managed service providers, SAP, hyperscalers, and strategic partners to deliver a world-class ERP platform that maximizes business value while minimizing operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Operations
Own and manages operational health and service delivery of Haleon's global ERP landscape.
Ensure platform availability, reliability, security, scalability, and performance against agreed SLAs and business objectives.
Maintains service excellence and prescribed vulnerability posture across current ERP environments.
Enables technical readiness and execution of ERP migrations from current ERP platform to SAP RISE.
Contributes to transition planning, cutover activities, risk management, and operational handover.
Drive decommissioning and sunset of legacy platforms following successful migration to RISE.
Ensure business continuity and operational stability throughout transformation programs.
Platform Reliability & Performance
Drive proactive monitoring, observability, capacity management, and performance optimization.
Ensure robust High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity capabilities and compliance needs.
Lead root cause analysis and remediation of critical platform incidents.
Security & Vulnerability Management
Own vulnerability management and remediation across the ERP technology stack.
Ensure timely application of security patches, kernel updates, and technology refreshes.
Drive platform hardening and cybersecurity risk reduction initiatives.
Partner with Security and Risk teams to maintain a secure ERP estate.
Technology Currency & Lifecycle Management
Define and execute platform lifecycle roadmaps.
Ensure ERP platforms remain current, supported, and aligned to SAP and vendor roadmaps.
Govern upgrades, migrations, platform refreshes, and technical debt reduction initiatives.
Compliance, Audit & Controls
Ensure compliance with SOX, ITGC, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Own ERP platform controls supporting internal and external audits.
Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes and operational governance.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Govern managed service providers and technology partners responsible for platform operations.
Manage service quality, operational KPIs, contractual obligations, and escalation processes.
Act as the executive escalation point for major incidents and service disruptions.
Required Experience & Skills
Technical Expertise
12+ years of experience and deep knowledge of SAP ERP platforms including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, APO, PI/PO, GRC, BODS, BFC, FIM, ATTP, and related enterprise applications.
Strong expertise in SAP Basis, Oracle, SAP HANA, Azure hosting, and SAP RISE environments.
Experience managing large enterprise ERP estates with complex integrations and global operations.
Strong understanding of ERP platform monitoring, automation, security, resilience, and disaster recovery.
Leadership & Delivery Experience
Proven experience leading large-scale ERP platform operations and transition.
Experience managing geographically distributed teams and strategic service providers.
Strong executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to lead critical incidents, risk mitigation, and executive-level escalations.
Experience operating ERP platforms within SOX-regulated environments.
