Key Purpose
Lead the analysis of business requirements through a structured process to document, validate and translate them into clear functional specifications that support the development of effective technical solutions for Vitality initiatives. Interpret business and operational needs into business, functional, non-functional, data and integration requirements; produce high-quality analysis artefacts across the delivery lifecycle; support Agile delivery; contribute to estimation, testing and business readiness; and ensure solutions are fit for purpose, traceable, scalable and aligned to the Shared Value Insurance model.
What you will do
Requirements development
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, clarify scope and shape the outcomes that need to be achieved
- Elicit, analyse, document, refine, verify and validate requirements using structured business analysis techniques, agreed templates and collaborative delivery practices
- Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and supporting analysis artefacts that are ready for delivery teams
- Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, playbacks and clarification sessions with business, market, product and technology stakeholders
- Apply peer review, stakeholder feedback and delivery learnings to improve requirements quality, completeness and consistency across assigned initiatives
Artefacts, process and configuration analysis
- Create, maintain and improve initiative documentation, backlog items, process maps, user journeys, use cases and other analysis artefacts
- Analyse existing business, customer and system processes to assess the impact of requirements on current and future solution flows
- Document configuration and localisation requirements using approved tools and templates, including database, mobile and web content inputs where applicable
- Define and document data requirements, data flows and key data attributes needed to support business processes, configuration decisions and solution design
- Maintain traceability between requirements, configuration, test scenarios, decisions and delivered outcomes, and identify where traceability gaps need to be resolved
- Identify, assess and escalate gaps, risks, assumptions, dependencies and unresolved questions early to support timely decision-making
Agile delivery and testing
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, refinement, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, and contribute to delivery planning discussions
- Walk the agile team through documented requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to create shared understanding and reduce delivery ambiguity
- Work with test engineers to confirm test coverage, expected outcomes and acceptance criteria linked to the requirements
- Clarify requirements during build, SIT, UAT and implementation activities to support effective delivery and validation
- Facilitate estimation workshops and structured working sessions with impacted stakeholders and delivery teams to refine scope, confirm assumptions, agree work breakdowns and support realistic solution estimates
- Provide clear updates on assigned initiatives, progress, risks, dependencies and delivery readiness, and recommend practical actions where support is required
Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, agile team members and cross-functional delivery teams
- Engage with market or partner stakeholders where required, keeping stakeholders informed through clear communication, timely follow-up and reliable documentation of questions, decisions and risks
- Contribute to practical improvements in requirements practices, documentation quality and team ways of working, and share learnings with peers
- Apply coaching and domain knowledge to work more independently, support less experienced team members where appropriate and strengthen capability within the assigned value stream

Technical skills
- Solid working knowledge of requirements elicitation, user story writing, acceptance criteria definition and requirements validation
- Ability to document and review process flows, use cases, user journeys and supporting requirements artefacts to support delivery readiness
- Working understanding of BPMN 2.0, UML or similar modelling techniques
- Ability to understand and document data, system, integration and configuration concepts at a working level
- Exposure to web services and APIs, with the ability to understand how systems exchange information and how integration requirements affect business processes and solution design
- Ability to work with data models, data flows and data requirements to understand how information is captured, transformed, used and reported across business processes
- Working experience in Agile delivery, backlog management and SAFe principles
- Experience using Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar analysis tools would be advantageous
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, facilitation and documentation capability

Education and experience
Required:
- NQF Level 5 or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analysis, Engineering, Commerce or a related field
- Formal Business Analysis training or certification is preferred; Agile, SAFe, UML, BPMN or related analysis certifications would be advantageous
- BPMN, UML, Agile or SAFe training would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of requirements documentation, process modelling, acceptance criteria, estimation support and delivery governance is required
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, Systems Analyst or in a related analysis role
- Experience in insurance, wellness, digital platforms, configuration-led delivery, localisation, testing, Agile delivery or market implementation would be advantageous
