This position will support regulatory, storage and handling and clinical aspects of medications offered in our ambulatory clinics.
The position will work alongside pharmacy, nursing, provider leadership, and the IS department to ensure the safe and accurate use of medication in the ambulatory clinics and in those prescribed from them.
Majority remote work with travel required for onsite visits.
0.8 FTE (64 hours per two-week pay period)

Job Description:
Coordinates operational and clinical initiatives. Collaborates with staff and leadership to assist with coordination of drug shortages, medication safety, student & intern programs, and staff education. Assists with the implementation and competency of key operational and clinical initiatives. Provides day-to-day departmental leadership in areas of accountability through mentorship and continuing education of pharmacists.
Principle Responsibilities
- Assists with operational performance.
- Recognizes and addresses operational and clinical opportunities for improvement.
- Supports projects and initiatives including: develops and analyzes requirements, analyzes results, identifies options for optimization or issue resolution.
- Leads development and implementation of new practices, workflows, guidelines and policies.
- Develops guiding principles and tools that promote consistency across the system.
- Collaborates with groups and teams assigned to projects and initiatives.
- Provides day-to day departmental leadership through mentorship and continuing education of pharmacist.
- May coordinate the intern and student programs.
- Leads workgroups and teams to meet objectives, timelines, and budget of projects and initiatives.
- May provide educational opportunities for pharmacy staff.
- Develops and implements new and ongoing clinical training and competency evaluation.
- Oversees operational and/or clinical education and initiatives.
- Coordinate staff education/training and competency assessment of new operational and clinical initiatives.
- Works collaboratively with the leadership team to identify gaps in education and assists in performance improvement to close gaps.
- Offers resources and training for new and on-going compliance requirements.
- May lead or coordinate site or system initiatives.
- Monitors financial outcomes.
- Ensures projects are completed within the approved scope, timeline, and budget.
- Assures evaluations include sound financial rationale.
- May prepare and dispense medications.
- Accurately dispense or certify orders filled by the technician.
- Assists in automatic dispensing cabinet(ADC) workflows.
- Requires passing annual sterile products compounding competency.
- Completes chemotherapy compounding competency.
- Prepares or certifies sterile products including chemotherapy preparations prepared by technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or
- Completion of accredited residency program
- 2 to 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of retail pharmacy experience
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
- Licensed Pharmacist - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required upon hire

Pay Range
Pay Range: $66.09 to $91.44 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Benefit Summary
