Cadent is looking for a highly technical and detail-oriented Product Director to lead the execution of the data foundation supporting our reporting, analytics, measurement, and business intelligence capabilities.
Working closely with Reporting & Measurement Product Leadership, this role will translate the broader product vision and roadmap into strategic deliverables, detailed requirements, implementation plans, and scalable technical solutions. The Director will serve as the primary subject-matter expert for the data products, models, pipelines, APIs, and shared services that power reporting experiences across Cadent.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge, strong product execution skills, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail. This person will work across Product, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems & Operations, Analytics, and business teams to bring structure to complex initiatives, evaluate requests for enterprise data, identify dependencies, and ensure solutions align with Cadent’s broader data and reporting standards.
Responsibilities
Execute the Reporting & Measurement roadmap and strategic priorities established by Product Leadership.
Translate product vision and business priorities into detailed requirements, implementation plans, delivery milestones, and technical workstreams.
Serve as the subject-matter expert for the data foundation supporting reporting, measurement, analytics, and business intelligence products.
Develop a deep understanding of Cadent’s data ecosystem, including source systems, data models, pipelines, APIs, dependencies, business logic, and downstream reporting use cases.
Own the day-to-day product execution for reporting data products, shared services, and platform capabilities.
Work across Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems & Operations, Analytics, and Product teams to coordinate delivery and resolve complex technical dependencies.
Evaluate requests to add new data, metrics, dimensions, integrations, and capabilities to the enterprise data ecosystem.
Ensure requests are clearly defined and evaluated against business value, data readiness, technical feasibility, scalability, and existing enterprise standards.
Serve as a voice of reason across competing teams and priorities, helping distinguish enterprise needs from one-time or narrowly focused requests.
Guide teams toward scalable and reusable solutions while identifying potential downstream impacts, risks, and gaps.
Drive the standardization of reporting datasets, schemas, metrics, dimensions, identifiers, and business logic.
Define detailed requirements for data pipelines, APIs, analytical datasets, semantic layers, access controls, publishing processes, and partner integrations.
Establish clear data contracts, source-of-truth expectations, ownership, and acceptance criteria across upstream and downstream systems.
Ensure data solutions meet expectations for quality, accuracy, completeness, freshness, security, scalability, observability, and performance.
Write detailed Product Requirements Documents that clearly communicate business use cases, data requirements, transformation logic, workflows, dependencies, business rules, and success measures.
Partner with Engineering, Enterprise Systems & Operations, and Technical Leads to develop implementation plans, sequence work, and manage team-level priorities.
Track execution across multiple technical teams and communicate progress, risks, decisions, dependencies, and delivery timelines to Reporting & Measurement Product Leadership and key stakeholders.
Lead the product evaluation of production data and reporting issues and coordinate teams through resolution.
Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements to strengthen the reliability and scalability of the reporting data foundation.
Partner closely with product owners responsible for reporting experiences and business intelligence tools to ensure their solutions are supported by trusted and performant data.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Product Management, Data Product Management, technical platform delivery, or a related role.
Demonstrated experience executing complex data, reporting, analytics, or platform roadmaps.
Deep understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, analytical datasets, data models, reporting schemas, and semantic layers.
Experience working closely with Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems & Operations, Analytics, and Product teams.
Proven ability to translate strategic direction into detailed requirements and executable technical plans.
Experience managing multiple interconnected initiatives, technical dependencies, and cross-functional delivery teams.
Strong understanding of enterprise data standards, data contracts, source-of-truth frameworks, and shared-service models.
Experience evaluating requests for new enterprise data and determining the appropriate scalable implementation approach.
Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, observability, security, permissions, scalability, and performance requirements.
Experience supporting data-platform modernization, system integration, schema standardization, or reporting infrastructure initiatives.
Experience working with business intelligence, analytics, or self-service reporting platforms.
Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to review and validate reporting logic, data mappings, joins, and transformations is strongly preferred.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms is preferred.
Experience in digital advertising, media, measurement, analytics, or marketing technology is preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, technical risks, and downstream impacts.
Strong judgment and the confidence to challenge assumptions, ask detailed questions, and guide teams toward the appropriate enterprise solution.
