Description
About Dokainish & Company
Since 2011, Dokainish & Company has been delivering world-class project management and project controls consultancy services. We specialize in working diligently and collaboratively with our clients to achieve long-lasting, impactful results across numerous business functions.
Our areas of expertise include Project Controls, Project Management, Quantitative Risk Analysis, Organizational Change Management, Enterprise Reporting, Estimating, Asset Management, and System Implementation for Capital Projects. We draw upon decades of project experience to deliver customized solutions to our clients’ most complex challenges.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our high-performing, diverse, and innovative consulting team, supporting a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation for a well-established client within the nuclear sector.
The Opportunity
The Senior Business Analyst will drive SAP Finance solution design, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement to support efficient, compliant, and scalable financial operations. This role bridges finance domain expertise with SAP functional configuration, working closely with both business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The engagement is in the design phase with user stories already drafted, so the role includes reviewing and refining existing finance user stories for completeness and testability, not only gathering new requirements.
Location & Travel
This is a full-time, non-remote, in-office position based in Toronto, Ontario, with regular travel to client sites as required within the GTA.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead finance process assessments to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and control issues across SAP (ECC and S/4HANA) workflows.
Facilitate workshops with Finance stakeholders to gather requirements, define future-state processes, and align on measurable outcomes.
Review and refine the existing drafted user stories for the finance workstream, ensuring they are complete, correctly scoped, and testable, and confirming acceptance criteria before build.
Design and configure SAP Finance solutions, including Record to Report (R2R), Procure to Pay (P2P/AP), Order to Cash (O2C/AR), Asset Accounting, and banking and cash processes.
Design and validate the capital-project-to-asset flow, including Project System and WBS, Investment Management, and settlement of assets under construction to fixed assets, in line with the needs of a capital-intensive organization.
Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, configuration designs, and testable acceptance criteria.
Partner with development and integration teams to deliver enhancements, interfaces, workflows, forms, and reporting solutions, accounting for finance integration points with MM, SD, PS, and PM.
Lead functional and module-level testing for the finance workstream, including test script development, defect triage, and regression validation, in coordination with the QA Lead who owns the overall program test strategy, integration testing, and automation.
Support deployment activities including cutover planning, data validation, hypercare, and production support with root-cause analysis.
Act as a trusted advisor to Finance stakeholders on SAP-enabled process improvements, compliance, controls, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
4-year university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
6-8 years of relevant experience in finance business analysis and SAP functional work.
Strong functional expertise in SAP Finance with hands-on configuration experience, including demonstrated S/4HANA Finance delta knowledge such as the Universal Journal (ACDOCA), new Asset Accounting, new General Ledger and parallel ledgers, and Group Reporting. Experience limited to ECC FICO is not sufficient on its own.
Demonstrated end-to-end knowledge of finance processes including R2R, P2P (AP), O2C (AR), and Asset Accounting.
Hands-on experience with the capital-project-to-asset flow, including Project System and WBS, settlement of assets under construction to fixed assets, and Investment Management, is strongly preferred given the capital-intensive nature of the client.
Proven experience leading business process improvement initiatives and driving operational efficiencies within finance functions.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into structured functional designs and testable deliverables.
Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and influence cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills, including experience developing process documentation and training materials.
Experience within a regulated or audited environment (for example nuclear, utilities, or energy) and awareness of financial controls and segregation of duties is an asset.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
This is a full-time, non-remote, in-office position based in Toronto, Ontario, with regular travel to client sites as required within the GTA.
