A bit about the role

You will conduct due diligence reviews and ongoing monitoring of delegated portfolio managers across both liquid and illiquid investment strategies. Working closely with investment teams, control functions and other key stakeholders, you will oversee delegated portfolio management activities and monitor relevant performance and risk indicators.

You will review investment recommendations and supporting due diligence materials, produce independent assessments and present findings to the relevant investment committee for approval. You will also support reporting to internal committees and Boards, identify and escalate operational and regulatory risks, and work with delegated investment managers to agree and monitor corrective actions where required.

A key part of the role will be building productive relationships with investment managers, outsourced service providers and internal teams including Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit. Through effective oversight, governance and constructive challenge, you will help ensure that investment activities are managed in line with regulatory expectations, internal standards and client interests.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Experience working within a management company environment, with a strong understanding of investment management oversight, due diligence and delegated portfolio management.

  • Good knowledge of a broad range of asset classes and investment strategies, including experience engaging with fund managers across liquid and illiquid investments.

  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to prepare independent assessments, present findings and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.

  • A successful track record of building collaborative relationships across investment, risk, compliance, audit and external service provider teams. A relevant professional qualification, such as CFA or CAIA, would be an advantage but is not essential.
