JOB OVERVIEW
MartinFed is seeking an experienced Senior SailPoint Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, architecture, development, and operational oversight for an enterprise on-premises SailPoint environment supporting a federal customer.
The Senior SailPoint SME will serve as the technical authority for the SailPoint platform, with responsibility for overall system architecture, application performance, code quality, workflow design, integrations, connectors, data correlation, and daily SailPoint operations. This individual will also lead and mentor junior SailPoint engineers supporting the DevOps team and provide advanced technical support for issues escalated from the Helpdesk.
The successful candidate will have deep hands-on experience developing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining on-premises SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) environments and will be comfortable providing technical recommendations directly to Government Program and Project Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the Senior SailPoint SME and technical lead for the customer's on-premises SailPoint environment.
- Design and architect the overall SailPoint solution to ensure scalability, reliability, security, efficiency, and performance.
- Provide architectural oversight and recommendations related to SailPoint infrastructure, configurations, integrations, and platform strategy.
- Ensure appropriate SailPoint database backup, recovery, and continuity processes are established and maintained.
- Develop, configure, customize, and maintain SailPoint IdentityIQ solutions.
- Take technical ownership of SailPoint code changes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Establish and enforce code review and validation practices, ensuring changes are independently tested and reviewed prior to incorporation into the production codebase.
- Provide design oversight for SailPoint workflows supporting internal and external account management functions.
- Design and review identity lifecycle processes, provisioning workflows, approval processes, access requests, and account management functionality.
- Oversee SailPoint daily processes, scheduled tasks, aggregations, connectors, and integrations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot identity synchronization, aggregation, provisioning, and data correlation issues, ensuring problems are quickly identified and resolved.
- Troubleshoot complex SailPoint application, connector, workflow, integration, and performance issues.
- Evaluate new SailPoint product features and releases and provide recommendations to Government PMs regarding their applicability, value, risks, and potential implementation.
- Provide technical recommendations to Government leadership regarding SailPoint architecture and design strategy decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior SailPoint engineers supporting the DevOps team.
- Review junior engineers' designs, configurations, troubleshooting approaches, and code to ensure technical quality and adherence to established standards.
- Support DevOps processes related to SailPoint development, testing, deployment, configuration management, and release management.
- Assist with complex helpdesk tickets escalated to the DevOps engineering team.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions for recurring SailPoint and identity management issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and operational guidance.
- Collaborate with Government stakeholders, system administrators, developers, security teams, and other technical SMEs to support the overall Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- United States Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience developing code for and maintaining on-premises SailPoint installations.
- Extensive experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) architecture, development, configuration, administration, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience designing and architecting enterprise SailPoint solutions.
- Strong SailPoint development experience, including customization of workflows, rules, connectors, integrations, and identity lifecycle processes.
- Experience with Java and BeanShell development within SailPoint environments.
- Experience with SailPoint provisioning, aggregation, identity correlation, access requests, certifications, and account lifecycle management.
- Experience developing, configuring, and troubleshooting SailPoint connectors and integrations with enterprise applications and directories.
- Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, including Joiner/Mover/Leaver (JML) processes.
- Experience troubleshooting synchronization, aggregation, correlation, and provisioning failures.
- Experience with relational databases and supporting database technologies used within SailPoint environments.
- Experience implementing source control, code review, testing, and release management practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in enterprise IAM environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to Government stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any Government clearance, suitability determination, or facility access required for the position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting SailPoint IdentityIQ within a federal Government environment.
- Experience leading or serving as a senior technical SME for a large-scale enterprise IAM program.
- Experience integrating SailPoint with technologies such as Active Directory, LDAP, databases, web services/APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and custom connector development.
- Knowledge of RBAC, ABAC, least privilege, access governance, privileged access, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience supporting DevOps or CI/CD processes for SailPoint development and deployments.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, application servers, and enterprise database technologies.
- Experience with SailPoint upgrades, patches, migrations, and evaluation of new SailPoint features/releases.
- Experience supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and performance optimization requirements.
- Relevant SailPoint certifications are highly desirable.
