Description

About the Role

The backbone of TD SYNNEX's global network is routing, switching, and increasingly SD-WAN. Across more than 100 countries, hundreds of sites, and three distinct regional engineering teams, the decisions made at the routing and switching layer — how traffic flows, how sites fail over, how edge connectivity is managed — touch everything. Today, those decisions are made regionally, without a global solutions-level owner who can set direction, resolve the hardest problems, and ensure consistency.

This role is that owner. As our Routing, Switching & SD-WAN Solutions Engineer based in India, you will serve as the global technical authority for network infrastructure design across all layers: campus and data center switching, WAN and carrier connectivity, and SD-WAN edge architecture. You will design solutions for the most complex network challenges in the environment, set global standards, and act as the senior escalation point for routing and switching issues that regional teams cannot resolve on their own.

This is a design and architecture role. You should be equally comfortable drawing a network topology, writing a technical standard, debugging a BGP route leak, and presenting a recommendation to leadership. We are not looking for someone who runs tickets — we are looking for someone who eliminates the class of problem that generates them.

What You'll Do

  • Design and architect routing and switching solutions for TD SYNNEX's global network — campus LAN, WAN, data center interconnect, and SD-WAN edge
  • Serve as the global escalation point for complex routing, switching, and SD-WAN issues — own the problem, lead the resolution, document the fix as a standard
  • Define and maintain global network design standards: topology templates, routing policy, QoS frameworks, VLAN strategy, and SD-WAN deployment models
  • Evaluate and recommend SD-WAN architecture direction — provider selection, edge deployment models, application-aware routing, and zero-touch provisioning approaches
  • Review network designs for new site build-outs, warehouse deployments, and corporate office expansions across all regions before implementation
  • Partner with the Americas Network Lead, Daniel Salamanca in Europe, and the APJ engineer to align regional implementations with global standards
  • Collaborate with the India Automation & Observability engineer to define what network telemetry and alerting looks like for routing and switching infrastructure
  • Lead cross-functional engagement on network requirements for new business initiatives — acquisitions, new market entries, application migrations

Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • 10-15 years of enterprise network engineering experience with a strong focus on design and architecture, not just operations
  • Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and spanning tree — including how they interact and where they break at scale
  • Hands-on design and deployment experience with SD-WAN platforms (Cisco Viptela/SD-WAN, VMware VeloCloud, Fortinet, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of enterprise LAN/WAN architecture: campus switching, redundancy design, QoS, and carrier circuit management
  • Experience working across a multi-site, multi-country network environment and setting standards that regional teams can execute
  • Strong written and spoken English; able to document architecture decisions and present recommendations clearly to both engineers and leadership
  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy as a global SME with peers across multiple time zones

Nice to Have:

  • CCIE Routing & Switching or Enterprise Infrastructure (active or prior); CCNP Enterprise at minimum
  • Experience with data center switching and fabric architectures (Cisco ACI, VXLAN/EVPN)
  • Familiarity with carrier and ISP relationships — circuit ordering, SLA management, peering
  • Exposure to network design in a global IT distribution, logistics, or e-commerce environment
  • Experience with multi-vendor environments and the ability to design vendor-agnostic solutions

What This Role Offers

  • The broadest technical scope on the global network team — routing and switching touches every site, every region, and every other solution area
  • A senior seat in a newly established India Solutions Hub designed to be the technical center of gravity for TD SYNNEX's global network engineering function
  • Direct collaboration with the Global Director of Network Engineering and regional leads in the Americas and Europe
  • The opportunity to define global network architecture standards from the ground up — not inherit someone else's decisions
  • Clear growth path: as TD SYNNEX expands and the network team matures, this role is positioned to grow into a principal or staff engineer function

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 10 to 15 Years of relevant work experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree with Network Engineering or Related field of study required.

  • Other Education / Certifications: - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Data Center, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Enterprise Wireless, CCIE Collaboration, Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), F5 (or other load balancer) Certified Solution Expert, SNIA Storage Networking Certificate.

  • Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.

  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.

  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management.

  • Able to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.

  • Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.

  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.

  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.

  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

  • Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.

  • Able to exhibit ability to be sensitive to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.

  • Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level.

Working Conditions:

  • Consistent non-standard work or overtime as business requires.

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Professional, office environment.

  • Some travel required.
