About the role

We are seeking a Client Director or Senior Client Director to lead key global FMCG client relationships, driving strategic brand development and inspiring creative excellence.

In this role, you will be a pivotal force at the intersection of strategy, design, and client partnership. You bring intelligence, imagination, and emotional resonance to complex brand challenges. As the central source of truth for your accounts, you will anticipate client and team needs, independently interrogate briefs to unlock new workstreams, and build trusted relationships built on commercial precision and shared creative ambition.

Whether managing core brand accounts or leading multi-market global FMCG portfolios, you will champion Work with Soul—nurturing team talent, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering work that truly moves people.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

• Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture trusted client relationships through consistent communication, strategic alignment, and exceptional delivery.
• Strategic & Creative Partnership: Collaborate with strategy and creative leads to solve complex brand challenges with innovative, high-impact solutions.
• Account Growth & Brief Interrogation: Proactively identify new workstreams and maximize organic opportunities within existing client accounts.
• Commercial & Operational Oversight: Manage project profitability, forecast revenue, control budgets, and ensure resource efficiency.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as an inspirational leader, mentoring junior team members, fostering company culture, and supporting new business initiatives.

 

What elevates the role to Senior Client Director:

• Senior Director Relationship Leadership: Serve as the primary strategic advisor to executive-level client directors across major global FMCG brands.
• Strategic Brand Development: Drive overarching brand strategy and strategic design vision across complex, multi-market accounts.
• High-Level Commercial Accountability: Take ultimate responsibility for large portfolio revenue growth, long-term forecasting, and commercial strategy.
• Senior Agency Leadership: Play an active role in agency-wide strategy, team development, and high-stakes new business pitches.

 

About you

You are a visionary, passionate brand expert with a knack for masterfully navigating complex client landscapes. You bring a strategic mind that orchestrates projects with precision, paired with the communication and negotiation skills needed to inspire confidence at every level.

Experience & Attributes:

• FMCG & Agency Background: Proven experience working within brand and/or strategic design agencies delivering high-impact work for FMCG/consumer brands.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of client business models, brand issues, and commercial drivers.
• Collaborative Mindset: A track record of empowering teams and building strong cross-functional partnerships.

 

Level-Specific Requirements:

• For Client Director: ~6+ years of agency client management experience, with demonstrated success managing medium-to-large projects, driving account profitability, and mentoring junior team members.
• For Senior Client Director: 8–10+ years of agency experience, with proven success leading major global FMCG brands, managing senior C-suite client relationships, and driving agency growth.
