Description
At Morgan & Morgan, the work we do matters. For millions of Americans, we’re their last line of defense against insurance companies, large corporations or defective goods. From attorneys in all 50 states, to client support staff, creative marketing to operations teams, every member of our firm has a key role to play in the winning fight for consumer rights. Our over 6,000 employees are all united by one mission: For the People.
Summary
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Operations Manager to lead the operational infrastructure of our California employment practice. This is a senior, high-impact role for a leader who has deep experience managing employment claims at scale, ideally someone who has built, overseen, or driven the claims operations function at a top-tier Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) carrier.
What You'll Own
- End-to-end case oversight across our California employment docket -- ensuring every matter is moving on track, properly staffed, and positioned for the best outcome
- Design and enforce case management workflows, stage gates, and operational standards that drive efficiency across high-volume employment litigation
- Partner with attorneys to identify bottlenecks, remove obstacles, and keep cases progressing from intake through resolution
- Build reporting dashboards and KPIs that give leadership real-time visibility into docket health, cycle times, resolution rates, and team performance
- Develop and maintain vendor and outside counsel panels, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality legal support where needed
- Lead and mentor a team of case managers, paralegals, and operations staff supporting the employment practice
- Evaluate and implement technology tools, case management platforms, and process improvements to increase throughput and reduce friction
- Own the operational playbook for California employment law compliance requirements, including PAGA, FEHA, and wage & hour matters
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between the employment practice and firm-wide operations, marketing, client success, and leadership teams
- As the practice scales, expand operational oversight to employment practices in additional states -- building a national infrastructure from the ground up
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience managing employment claims or employment litigation operations, with direct exposure to high-volume California dockets
- Background at a major EPLI carrier strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of California employment law and its unique exposure landscape: PAGA, FEHA, CFRA, wage & hour class actions, and DFEH/CRD processes
- Proven ability to build and lead teams
- Strong analytical and data skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A systems builder and problem solver
- Experience with legal case management platforms
