Rebar Shear Operator

Brayman Precast in Saxonburg, PA, is looking for a full-time Rebar Shear Operator with a strong work ethic who enjoy hands-on work. The Rebar Shear Operator will work in our reinforcing bar operation.

Typical Schedule: 8-hour shift, days (6:00 am - 2:30 pm), Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required at times in order to meet project needs.

This is a hands-on position in a heavy manufacturing environment that requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

What You'll Do as a Rebar Shear Operator:

• Safely and efficiently operate rebar shears and benders.
• Load racks, control rebar inventory, and unload and store incoming materials.
• Shear and unload rebar according to production requirements.
• Inspect machines before use to ensure proper setup and alignment.
• Perform basic and routine machine adjustments and maintenance.
• Assist with tracking production and quality documentation.
• Follow production schedules, daily plans, and verbal instructions to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient workplace.
• Assist other machine operators as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For in a Rebar Shear Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related experience required.
• Previous rebar warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to quickly learn and operate industrial machinery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of machines.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Physical & Work Environment for Rebar Shear Operator:

This position is performed in a heavy manufacturing environment that may be dirty and noisy. Employees must be comfortable working on their feet and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.

The role requires the ability to:

• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and work for 8+ hours while using tools and operating machinery.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Read instructions and inspect finished rebar with adequate visual acuity.
• Reach, stretch, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, and twist as needed.
• Frequently lift and carry raw materials.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and appropriate protective clothing.
• Work safely around machinery, raw materials, and production processes.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
