POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Test Automation Engineer designs, develops, and maintains scalable automated test solutions for instrument software, data pipelines, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled applications. This position works closely with software engineers, scientists, product owners, and Software Quality Assurance to ensure software requirements are testable and verification is comprehensive, traceable, and compliant with applicable Quality System requirements.

The role contributes to automation architecture, continuous integration, test-data design, defect investigation, and verification planning for protein-analysis products and digital laboratory solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·  Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for desktop, web, API, instrument-control, data-pipeline, and analytics applications, as applicable.

·  Define and contribute to test automation architecture, frameworks, coding standards, and reusable test components.

·  Integrate automated tests into source-control and continuous-integration workflows using Git, GitHub, Jenkins, or equivalent technologies.

·  Develop automated tests using Python, TestComplete, shell scripting, SQL, and other approved technologies.

·  Create and maintain test data, test environments, mocks, simulators, and utilities needed to validate software workflows and error handling.

·  Review software requirements, specifications, and designs for clarity, completeness, traceability, and testability.

·  Develop and execute verification plans, protocols, test cases, and associated records in accordance with Quality System requirements (QMetry).

·  Document, investigate, reproduce, and verify software defects using Jira or an approved defect-management system.

·  Analyze test results, identify failure patterns, and communicate product-quality and automation findings to project stakeholders.

·  Maintain automated test assets under configuration control and participate in code reviews.

·  Evaluate and apply approved AI-assisted engineering tools to support test design, test generation, code review, and validation while maintaining appropriate human review and control.

·  Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, scientists, product owners, and SQA personnel throughout the software lifecycle.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus at least six years of relevant software test automation experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred experience in the life sciences.
