What you'll do:
As Director of Global Markets Operations in Hong Kong, you will play a central role in guiding the Treasury and Securities functions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve directing operational activities with a focus on compliance, risk management, and process improvement. You will lead complex transformation projects that require careful coordination across multiple teams while applying your market insights to drive performance enhancements.
Provide guidance across Global Markets Treasury and Securities operations by fostering a co-operative culture that supports both business goals and employee development.
Direct the daily activities of the Treasury and Securities teams, ensuring operational efficiency through communal practices and inter-personal communication.
Lead complex projects such as GMO Transformation, Outsourcing, New Product/System enablement and regulatory-related initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with policies and procedures (P&Ps), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), internal controls, and regulatory requirements by nurturing a responsible approach to risk management.
Apply external market knowledge, benchmarks, and insights to identify opportunities for performance improvement while sharing best practices across teams.
Develop, motivate, and support teams to attract, retain, and grow talent by creating an environment that encourages kinship and succession planning.
Promote interdependent relationships between distributed teams to ensure effective operation within a global organisation.
Facilitate incident management, problem management, operational risk mitigation, and service management processes with sensitivity towards all parties involved.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders through honest communication and considerate influencing skills.
Champion training opportunities that enhance team capacity and capability while supporting individual growth.
What you bring:
Tertiary education or above is required for this position to ensure foundational knowledge relevant to banking operations.
A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in banking treasury and securities
At least 5 years managerial experience
Sound knowledge of treasury and securities products as well as regulatory requirements is vital for maintaining compliance across all operations.
Proven ability to operate effectively within a global structure by building interdependent relationships among diverse teams.
Strong incident management skills are needed for responding sensitively to operational challenges as they arise.
Experience in problem management to address issues collaboratively while minimising disruption.
Operational risk expertise allows you to nurture responsible practices that protect both employees and organisational interests.
Service management experience for delivering high-quality outcomes through co-operative efforts.
Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills are required for connecting with stakeholders in both Cantonese and English.
