General Summary of Internship role:
This full-time (33 -35 hours/week) internship opportunity will be performed in-office at Rockefeller Group headquarters located in Midtown Manhattan. Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the candidate. This internship will run during the summer of 2027, from Monday, May 24, 2027, through Friday, August 13, 2027.
The Summer Intern will assist the Property Operations team with tasks and assignments related to the functions and requirements of the Property Operations Office. They will provide support for the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Property Assistants/Coordinators, Security Staff, and Chief Engineer as needed.
They will rotate at 4-week intervals among Rockefeller Group’s three core holdings: 745 Seventh Avenue, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, and 1271 Avenue of the Americas, gaining a total of 12 weeks of hands-on Property Operations experience.
Please note:
- Property Operations interns are not working with Real Estate Development teams
- This is an in-office position in our NYC location
- We do not provide housing or a housing stipend
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Summer Intern may assist Property Operations team in various activities and will gain exposure to many areas within the Property Operations Department, including but not limited to:
- Scheduling and overseeing contractors/vendors
- Prioritizing “in-house” vendor assignments and minor maintenance issues
- Budgeting for minor maintenance requirements and supply/equipment purchases
- Meeting with clients regarding minor facilities issues, solutions, and remediation
- Participating in building inspections
- Interacting with tenants and receiving requests for information and services
- Creating work orders for tenant services
- Maintaining tenant/contractor/vendor databases and files
- Assisting with Ad Hoc Projects as directed
- Processing of vendor contracts, purchase orders and invoices
Education Requirements:
- Candidate for a bachelor’s degree entering junior or senior year. A concentration in property management/operations and/or real estate is preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
- Demonstrated interest in real estate and/or property management/operations
- Must be a self-starter and can work independently
- A motivated and cooperative attitude
- Must have attention-to-detail and excellent organizational skills
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have good time management skills
- Excellent computer skills are required. Knowledge of relevant operations software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
