We are now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Category Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
About the Role
As a Category Manager, you will drive category growth, profitability and customer value by developing and executing category strategies that align with customer needs and business objectives. Working closely with Sales, Product Managers and Product Marketing Managers, you will use customer insights, market trends and commercial opportunities to optimise product ranges, pricing and category performance.
You will take ownership of category outcomes, leveraging data-driven insights to deliver revenue and profitability targets while ensuring the right products are available for the right customers. This role also provides leadership and direction to Assistant Category Managers, driving successful execution of category plans and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver category strategies that drive growth, profitability and customer value.
Partner with Sales teams to identify customer needs, market opportunities and channel priorities.
Optimise product ranges, pricing and lifecycle management to maximise category performance.
Lead new product launches and support successful execution across cross-functional teams.
Analyse category and market data to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
Work with Sales, Supply Chain and Product teams to improve forecasting, inventory health and product availability.
Build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous improvement across category processes.
About You
3-5 years experience within retail, telecommunications, consumer electronics, technology, FMCG or eCommerce environments.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer requirements, inventory investment, profitability and growth opportunities.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, profitability, inventory and market data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Experience working with Sales teams to develop customer-focused category solutions and growth plans.
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
Experience within mobile accessories, consumer electronics, telecommunications or related technology categories will be highly regarded.
