JOB OVERVIEW

The Hospitality team crafts unforgettable white glove experiences on behalf of some of the most notable brands in the world. We are seeking a dynamic senior hospitality leader to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in the growth and development of global client activations and team operations in service to our great partners, and to aid in enhancing THE•TEAM’s visibility in the marketplace.

The Senior Director, Hospitality will be responsible for delivering quality, white glove hospitality programs from brief to execution, ensuring client deliverables and project milestones, including operations and logistics, are delivered on-time, on-budget, and of a quality expected by THE•TEAM and its clients. This role will also be responsible for the strategic leadership of varying retained and project-based client accounts by owning and nurturing the client relationship, providing operational program oversight, and serving as a supervisor for a team of full-time and executional staff members.

Due to the nature of event delivery, this role requires the ability to travel and work on-site approximately 25% of the year. Multi-day, weekends, and short notice travel both across the US and globally are to be expected.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for oversight and delivery of account from planning through execution
  • Oversight and mentorship of multiple direct reports, providing guidance and leadership, communicating a vision, and challenging the team to achieve program goals
  • Rooted knowledge and understanding of THE•TEAM service offerings, ensuring the team is working in collaboration with all account teams to ensure flawless project delivery against client objectives and agreed budget
  • Responsible for the workstream of the entire account team, including defining the team structure and roles & responsibilities based on project need, and ensuring contracts, revenue reporting, team management processes and budget are executed according to specified timelines
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships, establish credibility and ensure client needs are addressed in a timely manner. Manage complex challenges as they arise while also pushing back when necessary to achieve desired outcomes
  • Oversee the development, management, and reconciliation of budgets of $1M+
  • Responsible for the quality control of all day-to-day outputs and deliverables to client and key stakeholders, ensuring impeccable attention to detail and upholding strict standards of excellence in alignment with THE•TEAM Hospitality guidelines
  • Conduct regular communication with agency team and client team regarding roles and responsibilities, budget, schedules, and project status
  • Ensure the agency team is managing and developing relationships with trusted suppliers, inter-agency team members, and third parties, throughout the duration of the project
  • Develop deep knowledge of the client’s business and has a clear understanding of the way the client judges the program’s priorities and success and effectively communicates expectations to account team
  • Support broader business vision, growth and development efforts on behalf of THE•TEAM Hospitality
  • Create a positive, collaborative, teamwork environment based on the company culture and values
  • Provide leadership for account team including coaching, professional development and training; guides team on deliverables, and establishes best practices with project management

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Agency experience is preferred as is hospitality certification and/or service industry experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as an event planner or organizer (in fields of high-end hosting or hospitality), with proven portfolio of supporting work
  • Previous experience managing multiple direct reports and dynamic workstreams
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, multi-task and prioritize workload while ensuring account team deliverables
  • Self-starter who requires little to no supervision to meet and carry out event and service responsibilities
  • Confident to present and communicate with senior clients as well as the ability to craft complex, nuanced written communications for internal and external outreach
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of navigating tough issues and influencing those involved toward a desired outcome
  • Ability to foresee issues developing before they happen and develop and communicate solutions as needed
  • Maintain an open-minded mentality, allowing thorough exploration of all ideas and thought starters
  • Focused, strong-minded individual with an ambition to help grow the company and make an impact on the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated and deep understanding of the hospitality landscape (global travel and luxury knowledge is a plus), including a proven ability to deliver proactive thought leadership and build impeccable programs from the ground up
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a ‘can-do’ attitude at all times
  • Lead and inspire other team members and generate positive morale

  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Capable of building and fostering vendor/partner relationships (existing vendor/partner relationships are a plus)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently
  • High level of initiative and interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Genuine passion and curiosity for hospitality, events, and premium hosting
  • Possess an interest and informed knowledge of the sports and entertainment industries

Base salary: $130K-150K, plus bonus potential

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
