A Branch Manager at White Cap…

• Accountable for profit and loss and inventory/accounts receivable for assigned location(s). Achieves earnings before interest and tax (EBIT), return on investment capital (ROIC), and return on sales (ROS) goals.

• Safeguards company assets and associates. Provides operational oversight and excellent in inventory management procedures.

• Ensures appropriate staffing levels to meet service, financial, and operational support demands. Effectively utilizes training programs to develop sales and operations expertise.

• Initiates and builds customer relationships with existing and new customers.

• Acts as liaison to functional leadership to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

• Monitors local market trends. Develops and executes strategies to grow local market share and aggressively pursues business opportunities.

• Works closely with vendors to maximize sales and increase profitability.

• Ensures efficient operations through adherence to policies and procedures and process excellence. Maintains compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensures environmental health and safety and regulatory responsibilities are followed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Generally has 7+ years of experience in a related field.

• This position requires operation of a company vehicle, or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

  • Proven experience leading warehouse, counter, and operations teams
  • Ability to coach, develop, and hold associates accountable
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
  • Strong communication and team-building skills
  • Ability to drive engagement and lead through change

  Operations Management

  • Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counts, receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations
  • Experience managing productivity, process improvement, and operational execution
  • Ability to identify trends and implement corrective action plans
  • Strong understanding of logistics, fleet utilization, and freight management

  Financial Acumen

  • Experience managing P&L performance
  • Understanding of inventory valuation, shrink & stocking levels
  • Ability to work within expense budgets and control operating costs
  • Experience reviewing financial reports and KPIs

  Safety & Compliance

  • Strong commitment to EHS and DOT compliance
  • Experience conducting safety meetings, audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Knowledge of hazard waste requirements, DVIRs, and driver safety programs
  • Ability to create and maintain a strong safety culture

  Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to resolve escalated issues
  • Experience managing delivery performance and service metrics
  • Ability to build relationships with key customers and support sales growth
  • Strong focus on Will Call and branch customer experience

  Technical & Systems Knowledge

  • Experience with inventory and ERP systems (Oracle, GAINS, WMS preferred)
  • Ability to analyze operational reports and KPIs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

  Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of branch, warehouse, distribution, or construction supply leadership experience
  • Proven leadership of hourly and salaried associates
  • Experience managing inventory, logistics, and customer service operations
  • Strong financial and business acumen with P&L responsibility
  • Knowledge of safety, DOT, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience preferred

$87,300.00-$136,000.00 Annual

New Jersey law requires the posting of the salary range for advertised jobs.  This range is determined based on market data and internal pay practices to establish a minimum and maximum value for a job.  Individual base pay is determined based on a variety of elements including experience, skills, internal equity and other factors.
