The YMCA of Broome County is seeking an experienced Fitness & Wellness Director to lead fitness and wellness operations across our Johnson City and Binghamton, NY locations. This full-time leadership position oversees our fitness centers, group exercise programming, wellness staff and community health initiatives.
We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about fitness, wellness programming and building high-quality programs that improve the health and well-being of our community. What You'll Do
- Oversee fitness and wellness operations and programming across both YMCA branches.
- Recruit, supervise, support and develop the wellness team.
- Coordinate and strengthen group exercise programming.
- Develop and implement wellness programs that support the physical health of YMCA members.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Provide training and support to members, staff and volunteers involved in wellness activities.
- Organize programs and events focused on health, fitness and wellness promotion.
- Stay current with fitness and wellness industry trends, policies and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with YMCA staff, volunteers and community partners to support wellness initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fitness, wellness, recreation or health program development and management.
- Strong leadership, organizational and program-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Knowledge of current health, fitness and wellness trends, policies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Health and Wellness, Exercise Science or a related field preferred.
