This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a System Design Specialist in Mississauga, Canada, with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.
Support Sales by delivering technical expertise and value-driven creative lighting solutions, tailored to each project across the full design process (concept to detailed execution), enhancing functionality, aesthetics, and mood through creative, consultative approaches.
Produce detailed designs, implement solutions, and advise on optimal applications with deliverables (i.e., lighting controls, CAD drawings, bills of material, conceptual presentations, and technical layouts) promoting customer satisfaction and sales success.
Support Sales and Management in pre-sales with impactful presentations, training, and product recommendations demonstrating light as a consultative selling tool to win tenders.
Provide expert guidance on lighting technologies (connected lighting, well-being, safety, optics, and sustainability) ensuring compliance with standards. Drive customer satisfaction and sales through tailored solutions and collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, and R&D to represent innovations accurately.
Stay current with technology and market developments, sharing knowledge internally and externally through lighting associations, industry networks, etc. Acts as a recognized subject matter expert in controls application and product performance. Feeds market insights to Product Marketing to maintain a competitive portfolio and foster knowledge growth.
Play a strategic role with specifiers, trusted advisors, and go-to experts in multiple markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with the external lighting design community to strengthen influence and engagement.
Participate in pilot installations, mock-ups, and demonstrations of innovative solutions, while maintaining updated design libraries and documentation. Collaborates on the development of smart tooling to streamline workflows and improve customer engagement.

College diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a related field
Sales support or application engineering experience in the lighting industry with proven expertise in lighting solutions and customer engagement
Proficient in AutoCAD
Bluebeam experience preferred
Lighting certification and/or an active member of a lighting association a plus

Salary: CAD 63,000 - 84,000
Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 5%
