Description
RCX Sports contracts with qualified transportation professionals to provide event-based truck driving and logistics support for sporting events throughout the United States.The independent contractor will transport designated RCX Sports equipment, materials, and other event assets between agreed-upon locations according to established delivery deadlines. Depending on the scope of a particular engagement, the contractor may also agree to provide event setup, teardown, loading, unloading, or related logistical support.
This is an independent contractor engagement and not an offer of employment. The contractor will determine the manner and means of providing the contracted services, subject to agreed-upon event requirements, delivery deadlines, vehicle-use requirements, safety standards, and applicable law. Engagements are offered on an event-by-event basis. The contractor may accept or decline individual opportunities based on availability.
Scope of Services
For each accepted engagement, the contractor may provide some or all of the following services, as outlined in the applicable event schedule or statement of work:
- Safely transport RCX Sports equipment, event materials, and other designated assets between agreed-upon locations.
- Operate the assigned vehicle in compliance with applicable Department of Transportation requirements and all federal, state, and local laws.
- Deliver event assets by the deadline established for the engagement, which will generally be at least one day before the scheduled event.
- Conduct required pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle and transported equipment.
- Safely load, unload, secure, and protect event equipment during transportation.
- Promptly notify the designated RCX Sports contact of vehicle, equipment, safety, maintenance, or delivery concerns.
- Coordinate with RCX Sports regarding event itineraries, delivery locations, authorized travel arrangements, and other engagement-specific logistics.
- Maintain accurate trip, mileage, inspection, or other transportation records when required by law or the agreed scope of services.
- Provide professional communication to RCX Sports contacts, venue representatives, vendors, customers, and other event partners.
- When included in the agreed scope, provide event logistics support such as setup, teardown, equipment movement, and loading or unloading.
- Any services outside the agreed scope should be approved by both the contractor and RCX Sports.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record acceptable under RCX Sports’ vehicle insurance requirements.
- Be legally qualified and appropriately licensed to operate the assigned vehicle in each applicable jurisdiction.
- Maintain any licenses, permits, certifications, medical documentation, or other credentials required for the contracted services.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe vehicle operation, cargo securement, and transportation procedures.
- Be capable of safely loading, unloading, securing, and transporting event equipment.
- Be available for regional and national travel associated with accepted engagements.
- Be able to meet the travel dates and delivery deadlines established for each accepted engagement.
- Communicate promptly and professionally regarding transportation status, delays, safety issues, or other material concerns.
- Perform services independently while coordinating effectively with event and logistics contacts.
- Be comfortable providing services in active, fast-paced event environments.
- Previous experience operating box trucks or straight trucks, transporting event equipment, or providing event logistics services is preferred.
