Overview
The Vice President, Consumables & Lab Automation (C&LA), leads a strategically important business segment encompassing Waters' portfolio of chromatography consumables, sample preparation products, laboratory supplies, and lab automation solutions, including software, robotics, and workflow automation technologies. The segment plays a critical role in driving recurring revenue growth, consumables attach rates, customer productivity, and workflow adoption across Waters' global installed base.
This role is accountable for the segment's strategy, business performance, portfolio management, innovation, and profitability. Working closely with R&D, Commercial, Operations, and corporate leaders, this executive will identify growth opportunities, shape investment priorities, accelerate commercialization, and build a high-performing global organization that delivers sustainable growth and market leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global Consumables & Lab Automation strategy to drive profitable growth, recurring revenue, and market share expansion.
- Lead the segment portfolio across consumables, and lab automation, ensuring strong lifecycle and innovation management.
- Accelerate consumables adoption and attach rates through customer-focused solutions and commercial excellence.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and emerging technologies to shape investment priorities and future growth.
- Partners across R&D, Commercial, Operations, Service, and Corporate functions to deliver differentiated solutions and business performance.
- Build and develop a high-performing global organization that fosters innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong commercial leadership with a strategic mindset and an uncompromising execution focus.
- Fluency with a structured, Lean-grounded management system that reliably converts strategy into results.
- Sound analytical skills and decision-making, with the ability to structure effective field programs and measure their success.
- Change-management advocate, with a demonstrated ability to design organizations for success and seed key roles with high-performing, diverse talent.
- Ability to rapidly build a deep understanding of Waters’ products, markets, and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline required.
- MBA from a top-tier program is strongly preferred.
