Position Description

Evergreen Trading is seeking a talented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day accounting function while gaining exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to process improvements while building a strong foundation in corporate accounting and reporting.

 

Duties And Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and operating expense analysis.
• Review and audit employee expense activity in Concur and reconcile corporate credit card and employee-related balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare third-party invoices and review vendor payment requests.
• Perform operating expense (OPEX) analysis against budget and prior-year results.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes by providing OPEX insights and supporting schedules.
• Maintain amortization schedules for fixed assets and prepaid expenses.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy across multiple entities.
• Assist with annual audit and tax processes, including preparation of supporting documentation.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements and support ad hoc projects as needed.

 

Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2–3 years of relevant experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Experience with NetSuite and Concur is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., for data analysis, automation, or workflow optimization) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions and departments

 

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

The above represents the expected base salary range for this role.
