Job Description:
Design Assurance Engineer
Dubai, UAE
We are seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to perform multi‑discipline quality reviews of design submissions, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordination across disciplines prior to external issues. The role provides a formal quality gate, prior to final issue to the customer supporting design assurance and drives continuous improvement in the design delivery process.
What You’ll Be Doing
Work collaboratively with the design teams to ensure that multi‑discipline design submission documents meet design and internal quality standards before external issuance.
Provide a systematic quality gate for all design stages (concept, preliminary, detailed, IFC, as-built), utilizing Autodesk Forma to capture and manage closure of all design issues.
Undertake trend analysis activities to identify re-occurring issues with the aim to support continuous improvement and reduction of future occurrences.
Document Review – Participate in the quality workflow for all deliverables, checking for quality and full coordination within and between disciplines on all deliverables, models, PDFs, CAD and MS Office files.
Statutory Compliance – With an understanding of the latest statutory standards and codes, ensure this is accurately represented in our basis of design report and deliverables.
Formatting Checking – Ensure alignment to standard document control requirements and document format such as styles and fonts, naming conventions, creating and updating additional templates as required to support consistency.
QA/QC Compliance – Ensuring all QC steps have been correctly implemented as per our defined QMS and quality procedures, reporting non-compliance to the Sector Quality Manager.
Data Management – Ensure projects are using the correct EDMS/ CDE and data is stored/ managed correctly holistically across the project.
Lessons Learned – Regularly compile, analyze and report on lessons learned to sector leadership, highlight common issues and support the reduction through awareness/ communications and training.
Reporting – Provide regular and systematic reporting to Sector Quality Manager on compliance across various fields to support trend analysis and improvement initiatives.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years experience in Engineering Design with exposure to Quality Control.
Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 19650.
Proficiency in Autodesk, Bentley and MS Office products (e.g., Civils3D, Revit, MicroStation, OpenFlows).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Knowledge of local design standards and codes.
Experience with document control systems such as Autodesk Docs, Aconex, Procore etc.
Ability to work across many projects and submissions at the same time.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Competent in reporting and trend analysis.
Profound understanding of engineering drawings and design documentation.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
