About the opportunity
The WHS Coordinator is a business partner role and is responsible for the following:
- Providing support in the management of site WHS activities including ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and in accordance with organisational programs, policies and procedures.
- Designing, developing and delivering WHS training and information programs, and providing ongoing support to sites for risk based activities.
- Working closely with stakeholders to ensure a high standard of service delivery is provided.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you will have:
Technical Expertise
- Provide guided advice on WHS matters to the WHS team and to stakeholders
- Understand legislative requirements relating to WHS and be able to communicate these to the WHS team and stakeholders
- Participate in and contribute to team/unit initiatives to resolve common issues
- Assist with resolution of issues and potential problems and select the most effective solutions from a range of options
- Provide ongoing support with activities that have risks at allocated sites
Safety Management
- Participate in projects, safety investigations and audits
- Attend relevant meetings including WHS Committees as required
- Participate in working groups and workshops on WHS Matters
- Disseminate safety communications for relevant topics (issues and activities)
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
● A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
