Job Summary

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will work collaboratively with the business areas in a fast-paced agile environment to predict risk, optimize customer retention, detect anomalies, and enhance process efficiencies using internal and third-party data. You will have the opportunity to have hands-on experience with insurance risk, claims and retention models, data visualization, model development using generalized linear models as well as machine learning and AI techniques.

 

Students enrolled in a Data Scientist related program who have strong written and verbal communication skills, good analytical and problem-solving abilities along with a passion for harnessing big data for business insights should consider joining our team!

 

Work Location

This position is an in-office role located in West Bend, WI or Madison, WI. No remote opportunities for this position are available at this time.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Preferred Education:

• Pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Data Science related major
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Skills Include:

• Strong quantitative/analytical skills
• Excellent programming skills using Python, R, and SQL
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
