Senior Team Lead - Product Analytics (12 month FTC)

About this role 

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of maternity leave within our Product Analytics team.

As a Senior Team Lead in our Product Analytics team, you'll help craft the best experiences for our customers, restaurant and grocery partners, and customer advisors across the globe. You'll be able to use your data & analysis skills to improve our understanding of products across the organisation, and your insights will be invaluable to improve the overall experience and prioritise product development. As an advocate for using data to make better business decisions, you'll be working closely with diverse stakeholders to advise on the insights which help aid these decisions, while also guiding, coaching and developing your team.

These are some of the key components to the position: 

• Coach and develop a high-performing team of analysts and an analytics engineer, setting clear expectations, holding accountability, and creating the conditions for them to step up and own their work. You'll adapt your management style to individual needs and working arrangements, challenging the team to solve problems rather than solving them on their behalf.
• Promote and model data-driven decision-making, enabling product teams to interpret data quickly and confidently, championing data quality and documentation standards, and actively participating in KPI harmonisation efforts across the team and wider organisation.
• Define and validate key metrics to provide insights and recommendations to the Product organisation, facilitating a better service.
• Collaborate with different business units, such as product managers, UX designers, and researchers, to support the business by assessing opportunities and understanding customer needs.
• Navigate a complex stakeholder landscape across Product, Engineering, Customer Services and Commercial departments. Represent the team credibly in senior forums, manage competing priorities, and push back constructively where needed to protect team focus and maintain clear boundaries.
• Proactively use our data warehouse and infrastructure to gain a deep understanding of the product; monitoring product performance, highlighting opportunities, problems and experiment ideas.
• Contribute hands-on alongside the team, getting stuck into analytical work, quality-checking outputs, and supporting delivery where needed. This role combines people leadership with individual contributor activity.
• Proactively recognise team contributions and connect them to business outcomes, making sure strong work is visible, celebrated, and understood in the wider business context.

What will you bring to the team?

• People leadership experience with a coaching mindset, comfortable adapting your approach to different individuals, working arrangements, and needs. You know when to hold space and when to challenge, and you model the behaviours (follow-through, accountability, recognition) you want to see in your team.
• Substantial experience in product analytics, ideally at a Senior individual contributor or lead level within a tech company or consultancy, and can evidence how you’ve mentored / coached others within your role. 
• Strong track record working across the full analytics lifecycle, from measurement planning and experimentation, KPI definition and harmonisation across the business, through to insight delivery and stakeholder communication.
• Experience managing demanding or complex stakeholder relationships, you're confident navigating competing priorities, communicating clearly under pressure, and saying no when it protects the team's focus.
• You are a creative and curious problem solver with attention to detail, and ability to step back and see the wider picture, and confidently engage their peers and a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong product analytics fundamentals are important for this role. Proficiency in SQL and data visualisation (e.g. Tableau) is expected; experience with R or Python and Google BigQuery is a plus, alongside familiarity with dbt.
• Ideally, some experience using Airflow, GitHub and Jira in a collaborative environment and be familiar with using AI tooling in a work environment.
