Scope of work:

The Nurse – part-time will be based at IRC’s Primary Health Care Clinic in Zaatari Camp. The nurse will provide essential nursing care services, including assessing patients’ conditions, supporting medical consultations, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The nurse will work closely with physicians and other healthcare staff, follow clinical and safety protocols, and ensure proper documentation and management of patient records in line with IRC and national guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

The nurse will be specifically responsible for achieving the following objectives:

• Assessing the conditions of the patient, initiating medical attention and performing the role of registered nurse
• Aiding physicians as required during treatment and examination;
• Updating patients’ registration books and other related appointment information;
• Maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts and other pertinent information relating to HIS;
• Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.
• Preparing and facilitating regular health education sessions for patients at the clinics in coordination with the clinic staff
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and training sessions.
• Apply relevant clinical protocols and support response during any outbreak or emergency situations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient records and imaging results.
• Adhere to IRC policies and procedures and contribute to a respectful, professional clinical environment.
• Ensure the nurse is trained and responsible for delivering vaccines safely and effectively according to MOH/WHO policies and protocols.
  

Main Requirements: 

Education:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

2.    Valid certification and license to practice nursing work in Jordan.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a registered nurse in a clinical or hospital setting

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care, and clinical protocols

• Effective communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary teams

• Attention to detail and strong organizational and documentation skills

• Ability to work calmly under pressure and in busy clinical environments

• Commitment to patient-centered care, ethics, and confidentiality

• Familiarity with infection prevention and control (IPC) practices and emergency care procedures

• Fluency in Arabic required; basic English is an asset

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  
  

Certificates or Licenses:

• Valid nursing license from the Jordanian Ministry of Health.

Working Environment:

This position is based in Mafraq (Za’atari Camp). The security situation in IRC intervention areas is currently stable. IRC’s Security Department provides regular updates to ensure that management and staff remain informed of any new developments and security-related changes.
