Supplier Engineer New College Grad- Bachelor's/Master's (Santa Clara, CA)

Job Description:

• Work with New Product Development (NPI) teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
• Interact with New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
• Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability.
• Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
• Assist with quality problem resolutions and incident management.
• Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression. Typically has knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts.
• Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
• Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.

Key Responsibilities

• Support supplier development initiatives focused on process optimization, yield improvement, capacity expansion, and manufacturing excellence.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and improve chemical, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and cost
• Participate in supplier capability assessments, process audits, and production readiness reviews.
• Support qualification and scale-up of new materials, processes, and suppliers.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and process-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Conduct process capability analysis and identify opportunities for process control improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure robust supplier performance.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for supplier process excursions.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects throughout the supply chain.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Requirements

This role requires a combination of analytical skills, communication skills, and leadership abilities to navigate the complexities of regional supplier engineering activity, supplier quality activity, to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Strong communication skills, and ability to cross-function cooperation.
• Data analysis skills. Tableau, SQL, Python, Power BI

Salary Range:

$75,500.00 - $104,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
