REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role will work alongside and be supported by a team of project professionals to perform the following tasks, which are not limited to:

• Working knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to wetlands and listed species in the southeastern United States
• Possess the ability to conduct field surveys, manage projects and advise clients on a variety of ecological and/or regulatory topics
• Experience in field identification of plants and wildlife listed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS)
• Experience in gopher tortoise survey, permitting and relocation (FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent desirable)
• Working knowledge of wetland indicators listed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
• Working knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
• Travel throughout Florida and Southern Region, as needed, to support ongoing projects in the Southeast.
• Coordinate with regulatory departments, contractors, and property owners to schedule work.
• Manage task budgets, scopes, and schedules.
• Prepare work deliverables including natural attenuation monitoring reports, ecological reports, inspection reports, regulatory permit applications, and similar level of effort work products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science; Environmental, Ecology or related field.
• Experience as a consultant, regulator, or industry representative for mining and/or public utilities is desirable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at once.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and respond to unexpected challenges with a positive, proactive approach.
• Able to pass a background check; US Citizenship or naturalized citizen status.
• Valid driver’s license required.
