The Department of Languages and Linguistics seeks an Assistant Professor of Spanish specializing in Peninsular Spanish. This is a tenure track position. We are looking for a candidate who can contribute across the undergraduate Spanish curriculum and is prepared to teach elementary, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language courses, as well as upper-division courses in their area of expertise. Candidates should have a strong background in Peninsular literature and cultural studies, with additional interests in areas such as film and visual culture, digital media and digital humanities, Iberian studies, or contemporary cultural studies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and to current, proficiency-oriented and technology-enhanced approaches to language instruction.

Applicants should be prepared to attach a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, scholarly writing sample, teaching philosophy (which should specifically address the demands of this position as described) and a copy of your terminal degree transcript.
