About the job

A strategic finance role responsible for providing financial leadership and business partnership to the Immunology and Rare Disease business units in Africa. The position drives financial performance management, strategic decision-making, and resource optimization while ensuring sustainable growth of the rare disease and Immunology portfolio

She / He ensures focus on bold new approaches (e.g. digital), promotes innovation, speed and agility to reach these objectives. The FBP works in partnership with local and global teams to steer the business, leveraging best practices sharing and scale up, giving opportunities for people to develop new skills and gain diversified experience. The FBP ensures that all the above is done in compliance with good internal control practices.

As part of her/his main responsibilities, the FBP:

  • Contributes to the business value creation by working closely with Business heads. Challenges the status quo aiming at improving efficiency in the way we do business​ (e.g. new Go To Market, digital model) .

  • Develops robust business cases with scenario modeling, ROI analysis, and risk assessment to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation

  • Support launch excellence for new products and indications in the specialty care portfolio

  • Provide financial insights for Dupixent and other immunology franchise products

  • Analyze profitability of specialty care portfolio and recommend optimization strategies

  • Partner with Medical Affairs to optimize investment in medical education programs and to leverage Patient support programs from a financial perspective

  • Support innovation tender processes for specialty care products

  • Provides commercial and financial decision support aligned with strategic priorities and contributing to the Pharma Africa strategy.

  • Identifies proactively financial risks and opportunities, developing corrective actions to close gaps where they are required.

  • Ensures the consistency of macro-economic hypothesis in the planning / budgeting / forecasting processes.

  • Is accountable to identify risks and opportunities to dynamically re-allocate resources in the assigned market/region.

  • Prepares forward looking analyses, focusing not only on past performance, but also foreseeing Risks & Opportunities in coming quarters/years with action plan proposals to ensure target achievements.

  • Co-pilots and challenges the business investments and resources allocation through the appropriate use of KPIs, prioritization measures and operational analysis.

  • Is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the Controlling processes within his/her perimeter and ensuring that Internal Control requirements are met.

  • Develops accurate financials for the forecasts, budget, strategic plan processes that reflect the business strategy.

  • Coordinates with key internal stakeholders across various disciplines and groups.

  • Ensures the right level of financial communication within the pharma and alignment with Business / Financial Planning Performance

  • Supports the change management to drive transformation within Pharma for the respective markets within scope ,she/he oversees and in charge of.

About you

Work Experience:

  • BA or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar

  • +10  years of relevant experience with a deep business and finance acumen and detailed market knowledge, other business experience is a Plus.

  • Experience as Finance Business Partner is a must

  • Multicultural/ Multicounty experience and exposure from the international environment

  • Strong Business acumen with experience within Pharma industry

  • Great ability to Multi-tasking, Result orientation and agility.
