Summary of our opportunity
The role will form part of ICG’s Client Relations group, supporting the Product Specialists across ICG’s strategies and asset classes. In addition, the Client Relations group leads and manages fundraising activities, contributes to strategic growth initiatives and oversees the firm’s existing book of clients. The group works collaboratively with the firm’s Marketers, responsible for interfacing with clients and developing new client relationships.
The role will provide exposure to ICG strategies across Structured Credit, Leveraged Finance and Private Credit. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be highly motivated and keen to work alongside like-minded individuals as part of a collaborative and committed team. You will require strong communication skills (both written and verbal), benefit from robust analytical skills and demonstrate intellectual curiosity for financial markets.
Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
Acting as a key team member and resource for Client Relations, building an understanding of the strategies and underlying markets you work on
Supporting Product Specialists and Marketers with information and expertise on the firm’s funds and strategies
Supporting the fundraising cycles, i.e. preparation of high-quality marketing materials such as standard fund overview presentation decks, PPMs, RFPs and DDQs for client proposals and meetings, ensuring that all are delivered diligently, in a timely fashion and of the highest quality
Using key fund and market level statistics to develop the market positioning of our strategies/ product range and communicate findings both verbally and in written marketing materials.
Supporting ongoing projects to enhance and streamline processes and workflow across the team, including but not limited to automation and data quality improvement.
Supporting with the fundraise process, including monitoring of the investor pipeline, creating traction reports and communicating this to senior people within the team.
Ensuring that marketing materials meet compliance requirements.
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
Essential
Experienced, with a strong academic background
Commercially and financially literate, demonstrating strong numerical and oral communication skills; excellent written and presentation skills
A genuine interest in financial markets and investing
Demonstration of an exceptional level of attention to detail
Able to interact with marketers and investment teams
A team player with an ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines
Pro-active, confident and self-motivated; ability to problem solve
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desirable
A solid foundation and understanding of private or public markets, ideally with prior exposure to either Leveraged Loans, High Yield Bonds, CLOs, Structured Credit or Private Credit
Background or experience in asset management, the placement agent industry or investment banking
Professional Qualification: CAIA, CFA, IMC and ACA
