The Position:

The Cabinetmaker fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs high-quality cabinetry, millwork, fixtures, and related components. This position ensures all work meets design specifications by performing precise measurements, evaluating material quality, and operating modern woodworking machinery. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, maintaining tools and equipment, and supporting construction and maintenance activities across UIDC facilities.

  • Fabricate and assemble cabinet components using both traditional woodworking tools and modern equipment such as table saws, jointers, planers, routers, drills, sanders, and CNC-compatible tools where applicable.
  • Interpret digital and printed blueprints, design plans, and CAD-generated layouts to ensure precise cuts and tight-fitting assemblies.
  • Measure, mark, cut, mold, and shape materials—including hardwoods, plywood, and wood substitutes—with accuracy to meet project specifications.
  • Install hardware such as hinges, handles, pulls, and drawer slides; ensure proper alignment and functionality. Match materials and grains to maintain consistent visual quality across installed cabinetry and millwork.
  • Reinforce joints and hardware to maximize durability without compromising appearance or performance.
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry for building maintenance, repairs, and construction needs, including counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, doors, floors, and framework.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on woodworking equipment and tools; ensure tools remain safe and functional.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by disposing of waste materials such as wood scraps, nails, and screws.
  • Comply with all safety rules and practices and ensure equipment usage meets safety standards.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement within the Facilities Department.
  • Refer guest or staff concerns to Facilities Management to help maintain excellent service standards.
  • Support the department by performing additional duties as needed.

The Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary and a benefits package that shows how much we care about our team, including:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Rx coverage
  • Generous Paid Time Off to recharge and enjoy life
  • 401k with up to a 3.5% employer match to secure your future
  • 20¢ per gallon fuel discounts to keep you moving
  • Free meals
  • Direct Pay (Payday Advance)

Requirements

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and guest-relations skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks at once.
