Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The successful candidate will be assigned to develop and deliver SE products.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning and manage interface definition efforts.
  • Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports.
  • Support interface/communication with program, functional and subsystem leads.
  • Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts following proper configuration management procedures.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts
  • Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with excellent communications skills to support coordination across IPTs and with external customers.
  • Solicit input from various stakeholders and team members to synthesize data and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineer (Level 2) - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Active USG Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program access via Program Access Request prior to commencement of employment or within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain subsequent SAP/PAR access following commencement of employment to fully support the statement of work.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active USG Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
  • Experience in one or more Systems Engineering areas, including technical planning, system design development, verification and validation, cost/risk management, requirements management, or technical review support.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and system architecture integration.
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering tools, such as DOORS and Cameo
  • Experience with software development
  • Experience with HW/SW integration testing
  • Experience with Agile execution

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
