The Role:
Our Chaska, MN site is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer Co-Op to join our team for a six-month Spring 2027 assignment. In this role, you will support the transfer of new products from Product Development Engineering into manufacturing, helping ensure successful product launches and production readiness through cross-functional collaboration. This assignment is intended to be full time, 6 months in duration.
What You’ll Do:
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process records, and standard operating procedures.
Support the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and production processes.
Collaborate with Development, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to define robust products and scalable manufacturing processes.
Assist in the planning, execution, and documentation of Validation & Qualification (V&Q) activities for new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Analyze process data and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
Communicate project progress, results, and recommendations through meetings, presentations, and written reports.
What We Seek:
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar) for creating and reviewing engineering drawings and equipment layouts.
Self-driven, creative and motivated individuals who can work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to deliver results in a timely manner while meeting organization standards.
Strong communication skillsAbility to prioritize tasks depending on importance
Prior internship or work experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus!
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
2027/2028 graduation
Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
