Overview
Title: MechanicCompensation: $32.00 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time
The Mechanic primary responsibility is to maintain production equipment and ensure all machinery and mechanical equipment are in operating conditions. The Mechanic will work closely with other Mechanics, collaborate with production operators and General Maintenance workers, and assist with other tasks and requests as directed by the MaintenanceSupervisor and Engineering Manager, consistent with fulfilling the company objectives of efficiently managing the plant.
Responsibilities
• Conduct all business in accordance with company policy and procedures.• Responsible to perform troubleshooting, repair work and preventative maintenance on all production packaging, labeling machinery, converting equipment. Equipment includes mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.• Responsible for ensuring that all machinery is in operating order by detecting, locating source of problems electrical and mechanical.• Perform and complete preventive maintenance, following operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions & engineering specification, troubleshooting malfunctions. • Possess the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic prints, diagrams, and ladder logic programs. • Conserve and maintain parts and supply inventories. Anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Places and expedites orders. • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications. Provides mechanical maintenance information when asked related questions and requests. • Expected to be on site during emergency situations, including but not limited to snowstorms and other severe weather, toensure the safety of the building occupants, facility, and the public. • Responsible for preparing maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.• Responsible for training junior maintenance staff on preventive maintenance, routine, machine repairs and diagnosing problems with the equipment.• Possess the ability to fabricate, repair, parts using machine shop instruments and equipment such as machining, milling, etc. • Perform any additional duties assigned or requested by senior management. Completes various physical tasks as requested by Manager and immediate Supervisor.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma, Electro-Mechanical Technical Training a must. B.S. College degree a plus.• Five (5) years minimum experience working with production equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical environment.• Three (3) + years of related experience with industrial packaging, labeling machines. Rotary die cutting machines a plus.• Ability to lift objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds.• Ability to occasionally work in poor weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, and snow.• Must be able to apply logical thinking to various situations and follow standards, procedures, and instructions.• Must be organized and have leadership attributes.
