Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

- Reporting to the Related Party Senior Manager, this position works with contacts across Fred Hutch and outside organizations and is responsible for the preparation of more complex and/or non-standard journal entries and related reconciliations, technical research for GAAP or tax issues, and analysis and presentation of accounting issues to members across the organization.
- This role involved development of tactical solutions to identified issues within the department, serving as a technical resource to other members of the department and as a liaison to those outside the department.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data, present key findings, and make recommendations to Related Party Senior Manager, Controller, and Vice President of Finance Operations.
- Maintain and improve financial models to demonstrate P&L impact and support decision making.
- Provide key support and analysis in annual budget process as requested.
- Coordinate and present analysis for standing meetings with members of the accounting and financial analytics teams
- Work with the Accounting Managers, Regulatory Reporting Manager and/or Controller on special projects as assigned
- Develop tactical solutions to identify issues (i.e. reporting and processes) within the department
- Assist others within the department as needed, including training and research, and serve as a liaison to those outside of the department

Qualifications
Required:
- BA Accounting
- Six years of experience in accounting or finance; six years conducting monthly/yearly financial statement close processing.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, follow-up regularly, prioritize and ability to independently perform multiple complicated tasks and projects with minimal direction
- Able to identify and resolve routine and complex problems
- Comfortable communicating with both a technical and non-technical audience
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to work under deadline in fast-paced, financially complex environment
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Use SQL to extract, validate, and analyze financial data from accounting and reporting systems.
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports to support leadership decision-making and performance tracking
Preferred:
- MBA
- Ten years of experience in accounting or finance; ten years conducting monthly/yearly financial statement close processing.
- CPA
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,712.00 to $133,057.60, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
