- Full-time, salaried exempt position

- Starting salary range: $70k-80k annually

Position Summary: The Electronic Health Records Trainer develops, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates Electronic Health Records (EHR) training programs for clinical, operational, and administrative staff. This individual will have a strong understanding of business processing needs involved in behavioral health, foster care, and financial responsibilities tied to clinical operations. The Trainer supports the adoption, optimization, and effective use of EHR systems through education, workflow guidance, and ongoing user support. This role works closely with operational leaders, end users, the Electronic Health Records team, and technical staff during all phases of system implementation, enhancement, upgrades, and post-implementation support to ensure quality documentation practices and consistent system utilization.
Primary responsibilities:
EHR Training & User Support
- Develop and deliver EHR training programs, materials, and resources for new and existing staff.
- Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and one-on-one training on system functionality, workflows, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as a trusted resource for end users by providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and workflow education.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and promote best practices to improve system adoption, documentation quality, and operational efficiency.
EHR Implementation & Change Management
- Support EHR implementations, upgrades, and system enhancements through training development, communication, and user readiness activities.
- Collaborate with operational leaders, subject matter experts, and vendors to translate system changes into effective training solutions.
- Provide go-live support and assist with testing, adoption, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Identify opportunities to increase system utilization and user engagement through training and feedback.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure training content and practices align with HIPAA, regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and documentation standards.
- Partner with stakeholders to maintain training accuracy and alignment with current workflows and business needs.
- Participate in audits, quality reviews, and improvement initiatives to support effective EHR utilization and data integrity.
- Maintain knowledge of EHR best practices, healthcare technology trends, and adult learning principles.
Requirements
Required Education and Licensure:
- Associate degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Information Technology, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing training, education, EHR support, or healthcare system experience.
- In lieu of degree, the equivalent of two (2) years of combined related work and education will be considered.
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience with Netsmart products including myEvolv, OrderConnect, or myHealthPointe preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, foster care, residential treatment, or human services settings preferred.
- Experience developing training materials or facilitating adult learning programs preferred.
- Experience supporting EHR implementations, upgrades, or workflow optimization initiatives preferred.
