Fort Washington Medical Center seeks to hire a Pharmacy Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Pharmacy Technician II you will:
• Perform drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality assurance/improvement tasks in accordance with established departmental procedures
• Deliver medications to appropriate locations manually, via pneumatic tube, or by refilling automated dispensing cabinets
• Monitor medication storage environments outside the pharmacy for appropriate conditions and regulatory compliance. Assists with unit inspections when designated
• Answer phone calls courteously and respond to medication messages in a timely manner
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain knowledge and understanding of the Adventist Healthcare Pharmacy Department standard work, policies, and procedures as established during training and validated via ongoing competency assessments
• Demonstrate the ability to order supplies for clean
Qualified candidates will possess:
• High School diploma
• Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. ·
• Highly Preferred: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). If employee does not possess an active CPhT or PTCB certification, said certification must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire or employment will be terminated.
• Must be comfortable and professional in communicating with their customers
• At least 2 years of work experience in a hospital pharmacy, specifically using aseptic technique following USP 797
Work Schedule:
- Employment Type: Variable Part-time
- Hours per Week: 4 hrs/week
- Shift Type: Rotating
- Typical Daily Schedule: Occasional Weekday coverage (Between 7a - 9p)
- Weekend Requirements: PRN Weekend Shifts (7a-3:30p; 3:30p - 9p)
- Holiday Requirements: Follow company holiday calendar
- Shift Differential Eligible: Yes
Pay Range:
$21.02 - $28.03If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
