- Sign-On Bonus: Yes

- Schedule: 6:30 am - 7:00 pm

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders and cardiopulmonary conditions. This position works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality respiratory care and improve patient outcomes.
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and airway management.
- Operate and manage ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and other respiratory equipment.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function testing, and electrocardiograms as assigned.
- Respond to emergency situations, including rapid response and code blue events.
- Assist with intubation procedures and maintain artificial airways.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, equipment, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Therapists. Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT credentials).
- RRT credentials obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Licensed by the State of Wisconsin to practice Respiratory Therapy.
- CPR certification
- NRP Certified, New hires must obtain NRP certification within 1 year (12 months) of hire date
- Ability to interpret test results and make appropriate therapy recommendations.
- Must be able to establish priorities and respond in emergency situations.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Maturity and ethics consistent with the practice of respiratory therapy.
- Maintains ethical conduct and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information on patients.
- Reporting Relationship: Director of Pulmonary Care Services, Manager of Lab Lead Therapist. Patient care - Medical Director of Pulmonary Care.
