JOB PURPOSE

Malaysia is entering the next phase of growth with increasing focus on Vaccines, Specialty and Oncology. To support this ambition, GSK is seeking an experienced leader to drive the company's Govt. affairs agenda, shape the healthcare environment, strengthen market access capabilities and protect GSK's reputation and license to operate.

The role will serve as a strategic member of the Malaysia Leadership Team and will be accountable for integrating Government Affairs, Market Access and Communications into a unified external engagement strategy that advances patient access, supports business growth and enhances stakeholder trust.

The successful candidate will operate as a key advisor to the General Manager and Leadership Team, influencing internal and external stakeholders to create sustainable access opportunities while navigating a rapidly evolving healthcare and policy environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Govt Affairs Leadership

  • Develop and execute an integrated Govt affairs strategy aligned to Malaysia's growth ambition and portfolio priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the General Manager and Leadership Team on policy, access, healthcare system and reputational matters.
  • Anticipate emerging healthcare, political, regulatory and reimbursement trends and translate them into business opportunities or risk mitigation plans.
  • Strengthen GSK's position as a trusted healthcare partner within the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem.
  • Government Affairs & Policy Shaping
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with government agencies, policymakers, industry associations and healthcare decision makers.
  • Lead policy advocacy initiatives that support improved patient access and sustainable healthcare solutions.
  • Represent GSK in relevant industry forums, associations and external stakeholder platforms.
  • Influence policy discussions and healthcare reforms relevant to Vaccines, Specialty and Oncology portfolios.

Market Access Leadership

  • Develop and implement market access strategies that optimize patient access and reimbursement opportunities across GSK's portfolio.
  • Lead engagement with payers, government institutions, procurement bodies and healthcare providers to support access objectives.
  • Partner closely with Commercial, Medical and Regulatory teams to ensure market access considerations are embedded in business plans.
  • Drive health economics, value proposition and evidence generation strategies where required to support reimbursement and access decisions.
  • Identify and unlock new access opportunities across public and private healthcare channels.

Corporate Affairs & Communications

  • Lead internal and external communications strategies that strengthen employee engagement, corporate reputation and stakeholder confidence.
  • Ensure effective management of reputational issues, media engagement and crisis communications.
  • Build and protect GSK's corporate reputation through proactive storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support leadership visibility and strategic communications aligned to business priorities.

Leadership & Enterprise Impact

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Malaysia Leadership Team.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and enterprise thinking across the organization.
  • Lead and develop talent within the function while building future capability in Govt. affairs and access.
  • Champion GSK culture, values and compliance standards internally and externally.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of relevant experience across Government Affairs, Market Access, Healthcare Policy, Public Affairs or Corporate Affairs.
  • Proven experience engaging senior government officials, healthcare policymakers, payer organizations and industry associations.
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing external stakeholders and delivering business outcomes through policy, access or advocacy initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem, reimbursement environment and policy landscape.
  • Experience operating within highly matrixed multinational organizations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Commercial, Medical, Regulatory and Corporate Functions.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or life sciences industry.
  • Experience supporting Specialty, Oncology or Vaccines portfolios.
  • Experience in market access, reimbursement strategy or health economics strongly preferred.
