UW Medicine Montlake - Alvord Brain Tumor Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 2.
WORK SCHEDULE
Part- time, 90% FTE (36 hours per week)
Day Shift
Tuesdays- Fridays/ 7:30am- 5:00pm
On-site/No Telework
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Patients come to the Alvord Brain Tumor Center at UW Medical Center – Montlake from across the country for expert and holistic care that includes a precise diagnosis, a personalized care plan and a team of experts who guide them each step of the way, from consultation to treatment and follow-up.
Your care team includes UW Medicine neurooncologists, neurosurgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, neuropathologists, magnate-certified oncology nurses, and cancer specialists who work together to treat all brain and spinal cord cancers, including meningiomas, gliomas, vestibular schwannomas, central nervous system lymphomas, ependymomas, recurrent brain tumors and metastatic cancers.
We offer access to leading-edge techniques, technologies and treatments such as Gamma Knife, proton and photon radiation therapies, chemotherapies (oral and infused), immunotherapies and Optune.
A staff social worker will support you and answer any questions you and your loved ones may have throughout the course of your care. You may also be eligible for clinical research trials that are available through the UW Medical Center and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including phone answering and call triaging
Scheduling provider and ancillary service appointments
Obtaining patient demographic, financial, and clinical information
Partnering with all members of the clinic team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery
Other duties as requested
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent AND
One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education/experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
