Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will assist residents in improving function, increasing independence, and enhancing quality of life through individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Assist residents in improving performance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Implement treatment plans and therapeutic interventions designed to improve functional independence
- Monitor resident progress and communicate updates to the Occupational Therapist
- Document treatments, resident responses, and progress accurately and timely
- Assist with discharge planning and caregiver education
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy team members, physicians, residents, and families
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as appropriate
- Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and professional practice standards
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
- Ability to quickly learn facility software and documentation systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Licenses & Certifications
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license/certification in South Carolina
- Must maintain all required continuing education requirements
- Must remain in good standing with the applicable State Board
