Summary: This position is responsible for various day-to-day tasks in the laboratory including working with avian blood or other tissues poultry house and hatchery environmental samples including fecal feathers and dust. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Demonstrated proficiency in sample preparation log in processing and documentation of test results; ability to assist with the training of other team members; ability to evaluate a situation quickly and react accordingly; proactive communication with peers supervisors and customers; demonstrated ability to complete projects aimed to improve the laboratory.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelors Degree in Science or two years technical training in a laboratory-related position.

Experience: 2 plus years of related experience.

Computer Skills: Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and other web-based programs.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Schedule: Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday 7am to 5:30pm rotational weekend days and holidays.

Biosecurity: When visiting biosecure environments showering before entering the facilities is required. The lab jobsite may require showering when leaving the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens ducks birds . The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.

Physical:Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to handle objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop; talk hear and visually inspect results. The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. While handling samples nitrile gloves must be worn. The team member may be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals.
