Description
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Product Line Support Manager.
## What you’ll do:
Supervises the daily activities and assignments of the Product Line Support (PLS) engineering team. Performs complex engineering relate assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/process/techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering test/products/equipment. Develop yearly strategic plans aligned with Division Engineering and LP operations.
Job responsibilities
- Supervises the day to day activities of the PLS engineering team (Lead Engineers, Master Designers, Supervisors).
- Reports status on PLS team assignments, prioritize engineering request, projects and engineering to varius cross functional teams based on Business needs.
- Supports the engineering aspects of cost out activities.
- Ensures the proper design procedures and processes of the engineering team.
- Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements.
- Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
- Review project-related documentation to insure its accuracy and complaince to Regulatory Agencies.
- Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design/ product improvements.
- Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs.
- Prevent and correct manufacturing issues that affect product function ability or impact design intend.
- Certification process coordinator.
- Support to existent manufacturing process, collaborate with cross functional team in the design of new manufacturing process.
- Keep quality specification and design intend of existent products.
- Laboratory test according to the product.
- Control and maintenance of deviation system and CO process (Enovia).
- Responsible for Product Data Management (PDM) process.
- Responsible of project development for products improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills and resources.
- Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble free introduction of products into manufacturing.
- Request capital as needed in projects.
- Support PROLaunch on new product development and product line transfer as needed.
- Comply with EQMS, Lean and Pro-Launch procedures and policies.
- Provide professional development & growth opportunities to reporting VAVE resources, responsible of team performance.
- Manage laboratory, build prototypes and evaluate samples of products under development and/or complaints.
- Support plant CI initiatives, actively participation on Gembas, LPA, OpA.
- Team representation at the Site Leadership Meetin.
- Comply with and adhere to the policies and procedures established in the applicable Management Systems (EQMS, MESH, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 standards) to ensure compliance with the Management System.
## Qualifications:
Education level required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Bilingual English - Spanish
Years of experience required: 5-7 years of similar positions.

Area of expertise: Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Productivity Improvement, Manufacturing Operations and Change Management.
