Position Summary
ITT Aerospace Controls is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Test Engineering Supervisor to lead the activities of the Test Engineering team on-site at our Valencia, California location. This position will lead Valencia’s Test Lab, perform resource and workload management of Test personnel, coordinate program testing activities, and drive strategic improvements of Valencia’s test capabilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Test Engineer, Project Engineer, or Technical Lead. This position requires a high level of communication skills to various leaders and functions within Aerospace Controls, including the senior management team
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee Test Lab activity and direct program testing functions across Valencia’s various product families
- Effective communication to staff, senior leadership and customers
- Balancing testing activities of production, New Product Introduction, and Research and Development in conjunction with business priorities
- Lead and oversee new equipment, tooling, and fixturing efforts as well as supporting existing test equipment
- Propose and implement improvement plans and PARs as needed
- Support cross-team communication to ensure knowledge sharing, process adherence, and development of junior staff
- Develop strong working relationships with peers, design engineering, and operations staff
- Support technical proposal and BOE generation as pertains to testing activities
- Documents test reports, analysis, and rest results with accurate and concise reporting
- Consults on product development and test planning
- Assist in interviewing, training, and counseling junior staff
- Ensure adherence to all Quality and Auditable standards
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or coordinating technical personnel and test activities.
- Experience planning, executing, or supporting product qualification, development, production, or environmental testing.
- Thorough understanding of Product Test, Test Equipment, and Test Fixturing (design and legacy sustainment)
- Ability to work on-site in Valencia, California
