Senior Associate Secure Data Exchange Engineer

In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting and advancing Amgen's Secure Data Exchange Services, including MOVEit Secure File Transfer (SFTP) and Trusted eShare Secure Collaboration platforms. Reporting to the Manager, Secure Data Exchange Services, you will help deliver secure, reliable, and compliant data-sharing capabilities across Amgen's global enterprise.

As a Senior Associate Secure Data Exchange Engineer, you will operate, administer, and continuously improve enterprise secure data exchange technologies. Working closely with infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, business partners, and vendors, you will implement and support secure file transfer and collaboration solutions while helping strengthen Amgen's data protection posture.

This role offers the opportunity to participate in platform engineering, automation, operational excellence, and service improvements that directly support the protection of Amgen's sensitive information.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the availability, reliability, and operational health of Amgen's Secure Data Exchange platforms, including MOVEit and Trusted eShare.
  • Execute IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues, and coordinate timely resolution with internal teams and vendors.
  • Support platform configuration, upgrades, deployments, and implementation of new capabilities.
  • Assist in designing and improving secure data exchange solutions and automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge articles.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement secure data sharing policies.
  • Analyze platform events, audit logs, and operational metrics to identify security risks, process improvements, and optimization opportunities.
  • Support investigations by providing technical analysis, audit information, and consultation to Information Security and Incident Response teams.
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation, security assessments, and compliance activities.
  • Build automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and minimize operational risk.
  • Participate in project planning, technical discussions, and cross-functional initiatives involving cloud collaboration and secure file transfer technologies.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal engineering teams to evaluate new features, enhancements, and emerging technologies.

Must-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of Trusted eShare or similar enterprise secure collaboration platforms.
  • Good understanding of Secure File Transfer technologies including SFTP, FTP, SSH, HTTPS, APIs, and related protocols.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Understanding of cloud and SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Box, or similar technologies.
  • Good understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data protection concepts including DLP, secure collaboration, and information protection technologies.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts including SSO, MFA, OAuth, and certificate-based authentication.
  • Understanding of secure data flows across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 9 years of experience

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Comfort with scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc) and expression development (SQL, Regex)

  • Ability to develop documentation for Infrastructure Security implementations

  • Basic experience with ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, and configuration management

  • Experience in complex enterprise environments with competing business priorities

Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role):

  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Security+

  • SANS Certifications

  • Relevant vendor-specific certifications

Soft Skills:

  • Established analytical and gap/fit assessment skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.

  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals

  • Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
