JOB SUMMARY 

Own Jira as a strategic, enterprise-scale delivery platform, providing the architecture, continuity, and governance needed to deliver Avid's most business-critical initiatives. 

This role is responsible for maintaining Jira as a high-quality system of record for delivery, ensuring workflows, data, and reporting support modern SaaS product delivery. The Sr. Jira Architect partners across Product, Engineering, Enterprise Technology, and Business teams to design scalable architecture, standardize processes, improve data quality, and enable self-service capabilities aligned to the Modern Product Delivery transformation. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES  

Focus Areas: 

Jira system integrity, scalability, and usability  

Workflow standardization aligned to modern delivery practices and enabled for more than just engineering teams  

Help maintain data quality and reporting for leadership decision-making  

Enablement support of teams through reinforced training and documentation  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Architect and govern Jira as an enterprise delivery platform 

  • Own Jira system integrity, including permissions, configuration, data quality, role/access audits, the Salesforce/Jira Connector, and Jira contract oversight 

  • Design and standardize enterprise workflows, schemas, and a unified release-tagging process that supports AI agent scaling and readability 

Drive strategic Jira-dependent initiatives 

  • Support and consult on Jira-dependent Top 25 initiatives ensuring continuity for delivery-critical work 

  • Lead the Engineering migration into P&L-matched Jira spaces across Media Composer, MediaCentral, Pro Tools, Sibelius, and Hardware Products 

Improve product discovery, support intake, delivery visibility, and AI best practices 

  • Own JPD/Jira Product Discovery integration and partner with Support and Engineering leadership to redesign bug submission, triage, and tracking 

  • Build and maintain dashboards for Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Pre-Sales delivery visibility 

  • Partner with Engineering Ops on AI best practices for Atlassian tools 

Enable and train teams 

  • Provide guidance on best practices for Jira usage and modern delivery workflows 

  • Create documentation and self-service resources to reduce dependency on centralized admin support 

  • Support onboarding for new workflows, tools, and standardized processes 

Manage Jira Admin backlog 

  • Intake, prioritize, and execute requests aligned to business goals 

  • Balance tactical support with strategic improvements and platform governance 

 

Key Results / Metrics:(Will set Quarterly OKRs to influence these) 

Improve Jira data accuracy and completeness across teams  

Improve financial-to-operational data accuracy through Jira-to-Jellyfish mapping 

Reduce Support-to-Engineering bug handoff time and manual tracking overhead 

Increase adoption of standardized workflows and the unified release process 

Define A clear, role-based permissions structure with fewer access-related workarounds 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS  

7+ years of experience administering Jira in a SaaS or technology environment  

Strong expertise in Jira configuration (workflows, fields, permissions, automations)  

Experience integrating Jira with portfolio and financial tools (e.g., Jellyfish) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) 

Experience building dashboards and reporting for product and engineering organizations  

Familiarity with Agile/Kanban methodologies and modern product delivery practices  

Experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Cross Functional Teams 

Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking mindset  

Excellent communication and enablement skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Atlassian certifications (e.g., Jira Administrator)  

Experience with Jira plugins for flow metrics and reporting  

Experience integrating Jira with portfolio tools (e.g., Jellyfish, Jira Product Discovery, Chatbot & AI Integrations)

Salary Ranges:

MIN $111,789 to MAX $167,683 USD/Annual

The salary range shown reflects the company's good faith full target range for this position at the time of posting. The company may update or modify this range at any time and endeavors to keep this posting current. Compensation decisions are based on factors including geographic location, experience, skills, education, and business needs. While the full range is posted for transparency, offers are typically made within the lower to middle portion of the range.
