The Academic Advising Manager reports to the Associate Director of Academic Advising and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Academic Advising team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic support and guidance to students. This role involves supervising advisors, driving student success initiatives, and aligning team performance with institutional goals related to retention, progression, and graduation. The Manager will embody and promote the university’s mission, values, and commitment to student-centered service.The position is located on campus in Winter Park; FL. Shifts may include nights and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a representative of the university’s academic mission, upholding integrity, professionalism, and a student-first approach.
- Perform all job functions on-campus in Winter Park, Florida, may include nights and weekends.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of academic programs, policies, and student success strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to academic advisors through regular one-on-one coaching and professional development.
- Manage team workflow and priorities to exceed individual, team, and institutional performance metrics.
- Ensure consistent advisor availability and responsiveness to meet evolving student and departmental needs.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and continuous development of advising staff.
- Conduct quarterly and annual performance evaluations for team members.
- Analyze and present data-driven reports on student engagement, retention, and advising effectiveness.
- Collaborate on process improvements and system enhancements to optimize advising services.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to support student success.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including Title IV, accreditation standards, Full Sail University policies and procedures, and other regulatory requirements related to academic advising and student support.
- Adhere to FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) by maintaining strict confidentiality of students and university information.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in academic advising or student services, with at least one (1) year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in a higher education institution with a large student population preferred.

Computer/Equipment Skills:
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, CampusVue)
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite and presentation skills.
- Comfortability navigating cloud-based systems and learning new software platforms.
- Ability to navigate digital communication platforms.
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alphanumeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. (May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.)
