The Engineering Technician-Advanced Engineering is responsible for intimately Supervising and/or install & support all new Capital Projects (Buildings, Equipment, Utilities) or modifications to existing manufacturing equipment or Facilities from conceptual idea to Validated Production. Current position to be vacated within the coming months due to Retirement and the Department is crucially in need of this new dedicated Engineering Member!
This position reports to a Advanced Engineering Project Leader and is part of the Advanced Engineering Department located in Pensacola, FL. and will be a 100% on-site role w/ potential for .
What you will do:
Lead Capital Projects & Equipment Upgrades: Supervise and manage the installation, modification, and commissioning of small to large capital projects, manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility improvements while ensuring equipment maintains "as-new" functionality and appearance.
Ensure Safety, Quality & Compliance: Execute Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), lift plans, and participate in FMEAs while coordinating contractors, vendors, and technicians to uphold safety, quality, and engineering standards.
Provide Technical Engineering Support: Perform mechanical and electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, calibration, qualification, and validation activities for manufacturing and facility equipment ranging from 24V to 480V systems and process utilities.
Develop & Maintain Technical Documentation: Read, interpret, revise, and create engineering drawings, P&IDs, 2D layouts, isometric drawings, and as-built documentation to support project completion and operational excellence.
Support Operations Through Training & Communication: Communicate project updates and technical information effectively, operate equipment through HMIs and procedures, and train maintenance technicians and operators on new equipment, processes, and validation requirements.
Who you are:
Knowledgeable of Engineering Standards, Safety Codes, Welding Processes /Codes, Engineering Principles and common commercial components and the ability to apply them. Certification/accreditations from Industry of any or all for machinist, mill wright, welder, boiler maker, etc. shows experience and expertise to bring into Technician Role critical responsibilities.
Working knowledge of facility related infrastructure, boilers, compressors, etc.
Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and processes
Working basic knowledge of MS applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Working knowledge of soldering Copper Tubing, Bending SS Tubing, threading Pipe and install/demo General to Industrial Plumbing Systems as required
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
PLC knowledge and experience (fit/form/function basics to advanced)
2D AutoCAD knowledge and experience (modification/creation)
3D Modeling Software experience (navigation)
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to travel up to 5%%
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb and ability to acquire Cytiva certification forklift/lull operator status for Project needs.
